This particular drawing is getting scrapped midway and redrawn because it really highlighted my weakness: backgrounds (and my inability to draw them if I do the characters first). So I’ll be working on those exclusively for awhile. But hey, preview of a longer term project I’m working on.
That flying guy is a Krahang, btw
Trust me, I’ve got something in the works…
Sorry I haven’t updated much, but been concentrating on my traditional art. Especially since my drawing tablet is on the fritz. Have an update on my Norman Rockwell study though.
Ghosts feel like dense, concentrated nothing. Cold, but not like ice or a sudden brisk wind. More like the absence of light, sound, and sensibility. Like the unnerving feeling you’re being watched, given enough weight and form to reach out and touch you.
The finished underdrawing to the Norman Rockwell study. Haven’t used oil paints in years though…
I’m not dead, just studying some Norman Rockwell (Couple in Rumbleseat, 1935). Really missed the feeling of pencil on panel and will paint later.
So I made a thing. Frankenstein’d together both the anime and manga versions of Neo Queen Serenity’s tiara plus maybe a little of PGSM’s Princess Sailor Moon. Plus more sparkles and pearls.
I don’t even cosplay though, so I’ll probably just wear it when I’m making waffles or something.
Prop/3D art instead of a doodle, but check out this thing I made on my Sailor Moon blog :3
A commission that might still need some tweaking. I like forcing myself into working on backgrounds because that’s a huge weak spot of mine, but I feel like this quick style of drawing for the family cribs too close to other artists I’ve been watching lately. But I’ll work hard to develop one that’s my own.
Quick painting and rendering practice. Needed more work on dem legs, but tired time is now.
